WEDNESDAY 24TH JUNE (7.30PM – 9PM): Long-term Thinking

Can we develop  “15 minute self-sufficient neighbourhoods”? This is about making sure that everyone can access all facilities (essential shopping, Doctors, key services, etc.) within a 15-minute walk/cycle-ride. This reduces the need to travel and creates a community aspect to neighbourhoods. Can we come up with visions of the future? Imagining how things will be in 20,30,40+ years time? From hunter-gatherer societies and patriarchy? Where will the future go and how should it change/develop for the better?

The Yazor, Widemarsh and Eign Brooks are successive sections of the Wye’s largest tributary through Hereford City. Nic has led most aspects of the Hereford Yazor Brooks Restoration Project for the Wildlife Trust for more than two years. He will give an illustrated talk explaining the context and history of the Project, its work and outcomes including an illustrated virtual exploration of Hereford’s little known watercourses. Webinar, followed by questions and discussion (Organised by Hereford Civic Society)
