For the third of my series on food a look at the history of feeding the world, how are we managing to feed 7.8 billion people when there were such dire predictions by Malthus and others in the 19c. What are the implications for the future with a world population projection of 11 billion by 2100?
Our current world agricultural system is unsustainable but there are ways in which we can and, indeed, must, greatly mitigate the environmental damage and make for a far more sustainable way of feeding us all.
