From Nat and Alan: Details of upcoming talks are below. Please, as ever, do pass on to individual friends and family, but please do not share this access information publicly on social media.

The third in his series ‘Big Questions: Unthinkable Answers’, Richard Priestley, local activist and environmental blogger gives a talk on Energy. Is 100% renewable energy possible for all sectors (electricity, heating, cooling, transport, industrial processes) and for all countries? What technologies will be most useful? How does Global Social Justice fit in? What companies, governments and other agencies are doing useful things? How quickly might it be possible to reduce global carbon emissions to net zero? Going beyond net zero to a global economy that was sequestering more carbon than it was emitting: how and why? What and who are the lethal incumbents putting obstacles in the way of rapid decarbonisation? Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87598333186?pwd=b3FrVFZCc0lHT0szS3pFeXhCSHN4QT09

The High Street – Thinking Beyond Retail – Creating Health and Wellbeing Community Hubs Wednesday 28th October, 7.30pm – 9pm

In so many Towns and Cities around the UK, The High Street is in trouble. Boarded up shops, numerous charity shops and betting shops. Guest Speaker Dr Malcolm Rigler talks about the opportunity the council’s purchase of The Maylord Shopping Centre might present, offering Hereford the opportunity to explore new ways of working that involve the diversification of  The High Street Offer into “Health, Education and Community Development” . In developing such initiatives Hereford might well be able to take the lead in the Midlands Region for the much needed  creative change in the High Street Offer  that has long been called for by REVO (an organisation that supports retail) and many other agencies. Talk from guest speaker, Dr Malcolm Rigler, followed by discussion. Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81013482089?pwd=OE1RSUgrdHZIN0JvRDhwYkhwcVU2dz09
