How would you spend £25M to improve the city and county?

Hereford has been identified as one of 101 towns in England who are eligible to receive up to £25 million of funding from the government’s Stronger Towns Fund. This is a great opportunity for Hereford and the Town Board wants to know how you think the money should be spent.

The objective of the Fund is to drive regeneration of towns to deliver long term economic and productivity growth through three themes and the Stronger Towns group are looking for responses about projects (90% capital/10% revenue funding) that support the following areas:

  • Urban regeneration, planning and land use
  • Skills and enterprise infrastructure
  • Connectivity

The projects must all include sustainability/carbon reduction considerations and have an economic output.

More information about the fund can be found here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/towns-fund-prospectus

There are three ways in which you can get involved:

1) Click on the link here to complete the Herefordshire survey

2) Do you want to collaborate with HGN on a jointly crafted response that adds ambitious carbon reduction/mitigation/ecological projects into the mix?

The official closing date for the first round of suggestions is 13th November but HGN have the opportunity to make a (rather last minute but still potentially exciting) response! We have set up a Zoom for 5.30pm to 7pm on Thursday 12th November – please email admin@hgnetwork.org if you would like to join the discussion. We know that there is much expertise and vision within our network and we would love to hear your ideas.
