HGN Gathering: HGN and Talk Community Hubs – building links with new communities?

Thursday 3rd DECEMBER from 5.30pm to 7pm (via Zoom).

Join us and the Talk Community Hub team to explore the possibility of Talk Community Hubs and Herefordshire Green Network members/groups working together to signpost services, grow communities, build resilience and increase health and wellbeing across the county.

How could HGN and Talk Community Hubs complement each other and work together?

We will be joined by Amy Pitt (HC Assistant Director, Talk Community Programme), Sara Barnes-Wehrle (HC Senior project lead for the Talk Community Hubs),  Councillor Yolande Watson (HC Cabinet support member for Adults and Communities) and hub co-ordinators from across the county.

The county’s Talk Community Hubs aim to allow people across Herefordshire to be better connected with the services, groups and activities taking place in local communities.

They aim to help to…

  • Bring people together, build friendships and strengthen communities
  • People to support one another through knowledge of local and countywide services, groups and activities
  • People to access information and signposting to local groups and activities to support their wellbeing and independence, with assistance from a friendly volunteer

More information about their work can be found here

Talk Community Hubs will be developed alongside existing community settings and strengths, such as village halls, community pubs, organisations, shops or centres, which are already at the heart of the local community.  Herefordshire Council will provide support to nurture and further develop these settings and strengths, to help meet the needs of the local community and enable residents to better look after their own health and wellbeing.
