HGN Gathering: 12 Characters in Search of an Apocalypse – Weds 17 Oct

I’m really excited about October’s HGN Gathering based on “12 Characters in Search of an Apocalypse,” which is happening next Weds 17 October from 7 pm at the Left Bank, Hereford.

The 12 Character project is a worldwide call for community dialogue around one of the two most significant challenges of our uncertain times – the ongoing collapse of the web of living beings that supports all life on Earth – a collapse that with each passing day gains momentum.  The goal of this project is to get people talking with one another about what is happening to them, their families and their communities.

This will be an interactive experience and we would like several people to volunteer to be readers of some of the monologues, which will be interspersed with further discussion amongst the group. It would be lovely to have 3-4 (or more) local readers.  The monologues are 3-4 paragraphs in length, around half an A4 page and take between 2-3 minutes to read. They’re all printed and we read directly from the page.

The hosts for this event may like us to meet just before the start, possibly 6-7pm for an initial read through.  This would all take place at the Left Bank.

If you’d like to join us as a reader and take part in this event, please get in touch with Rebecca (events@hgnetwork.org) or Averil (admin@hgnetwork.org).

If the reading part doesn’t appeal then please just come along and share some time with us for this important conversation.  All welcome.
