Garden Gateway Project at Queenswood

The Garden Gateway project is a chance join an on-line group to chat about all things Gardening-y.   Herefordshire Wildlife Trust has been funded by the European Social Fund, via Landau, to offer wellbeing support to people unable to get out and about for now.  Karen Roberts is the Trust’s Engagement Officer who has been working with volunteers to establish a Forest Garden at Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum and she will be coordinating the group.

We will meet online – via Zoom or WhatsApp – once a week to chat about all things to do with gardening, nature and wellbeing.  Karen will introduce topics such as ‘plant of the week’ or ‘how to attract wildlife into the garden’ as well as suggesting ideas on how to enjoy your own garden, and experience nature locally or on-line.  No prior knowledge or experience of gardening is necessary and people can contribute as much or as little as they feel comfortable with!.  We aim to have a bit of chat and lots of fun!

We will meet online on Monday afternoons starting 28th September for 6 weeks.  After that we may continue online, or (if possible) participants may wish to attend sessions in the Garden at Queenswood Country Park (between Hereford and Leominster HR6 0PY).

Participants will need to be able to prove that they are able to live and work in the UK and have some kind of proof that they are unemployed or ‘economically inactive’ (including retired).

To get involved, please contact Karen at k.roberts@queenswoodandbodenhamlake.org or on 07341 736186
