“Focus On”: Growing Local

Growing Local delivers a programme of schools, community and family workshops and events, both from our garden allotment plot and field kitchen and at schools and community centres across Herefordshire. In times of Covid-19 we have had to adapt to work more virtually, distributing gardening and cook activities to homes, schools and community groups instead.

Despite our lack of cook and gardening workshops over the summer we have been keeping ourselves exceptionally busy here at Growing Local HQ. Phase two of our Seed Growing Project has now completed and we are currently working with eighty Hereford families over the summer holidays distributing weekly Recipe Kit Boxes.

In June we launched our ESF funded adult Garden Volunteer Sessions at the garden and will be starting with a new group again in September. We are also very pleased to announce from September we will be starting back with our weekly Cook Club at the Kindle Centre. Both projects are open to adults who are registered unemployed, more information in the link below. If you would like printed copies to distribute or to register for participation please email louisa@growinglocal.org.uk.
