“Focus On”: Colwall Orchard Group

Colwall Orchard Trust Ltd, known as Colwall Orchard Group, is a company limited by guarantee and a charity.

Our charity exists to restore, promote and celebrate traditional orchards.

We are located in the village of Colwall, close to the Malvern Hills on the Herefordshire – Worcestershire border. Inspired by the Common Ground movement Colwall Orchard Group was founded in 2011. Since that time, we have grown as an organisation and we now have a Board of Trustees and over one hundred members who act as volunteers working to put our ideas into practice.

We do this by practical management of new and veteran orchards; through regular social events, activities and education sessions; by processing and selling our orchard produce; by providing consultancy services to others; and by researching our local orchard heritage.

You are very welcome to come and visit our main site – known as Colwall Village Garden – which can be found in Old Church Road in Colwall, almost opposite the turning to Orlin Road / Old Orchard Lane. The 6.5 acre site houses a restored apple packing shed, a recently planted community orchard with over 250 fruit and nut trees, and 60 allotments which are let to tenants.

You can also find out more about us by looking at our website at www.colwallorchardgroup.org.
