Feedback from the recent HGN (online) Gathering “Talk Community Hubs”

It was great to see so many of you at the HGN Gathering on Thursday 3rd December. The session was introduced by Councillor Yolande Watson (HC Cabinet support member for Adults and Communities) and we heard interesting and informative presentations from Amy Pitt (HC Assistant Director, Talk Community Programme) and Sara Barnes-Wehrle (HC Senior project lead for the Talk Community Hubs).

We learnt that a Talk Community Hub is a place or scheme where local people can access information and activities to support their wellbeing and independence and that each hub is ‘unique’ to reflect their local community and its needs.

Talk Community Hubs are part of a wider Talk Community initiative which is a system wide partnership approach focused on managing demand by linking three fundamental elements that promote and maximize independence and wellbeing within Herefordshire: people and communities, place and space and the economy.

The presentations, which include lots more information can be accessed here.

There was interest and questions about Wish Hereford: Herefordshire’s online service for wellbeing information and local services, groups, activities and events across the county, which can be found here. HGN are going to look at how the work of HGN and our member groups can be best added to the Wish site.

A copy of the chat from the group and link to the results of our breakout discussions can be found here

We are currently editing the recording of the session and will let you know when it is available.

If anyone would like more information on becoming a hub (with training, promotion and potential funding of £2,500 available) please see here for guidance or contact or 01432 383770.

Please let HGN know if there are key messages/training we could develop together at
