Fairbourne: The UK’s First Climate Refugees

Last week, The Guardian featured a story in their Weekend Magazine about Fairbourne, a small village on the foothills of Snowdonia living on borrowed time. The next twenty years will see the entire village evacuated, as the council can no longer guarantee its safety. It’s easy for people in this country to bat away talk of climate breakdown, thinking that it will only affect those far away. But here is a village on the brink of destruction, right on our shores.
